London Grammar at the Sound Academy
It was great to get out and shoot a concert as I’d had an extended Xmas holidays and then started the new year with some product shots in the studio. I love shooting at the Sound Academy for the great lighting and sound, not to mention a more than adequate pit for us photographers. On this night I covered London Grammar for Quip Magazine and although I’ve heard some of their stuff, Hannah Reid’s voice in a live setting was awesome. I was hoping to stick around for the rest of the show after the obligatory first three songs but didn’t want to leave my gear at the check in area at the front doors. Apparently that’s the rules for shooting at this venue. Media are not allowed to carry their cameras in the venue if they want to stay and watch the show, regardless of the fact that they’re put away in their bags. Shitty, but at least I witnessed the first three songs. Here are some of my favs from the evening.
Thanks to Quip Magazine.

Tons of great albums in 2014 and this year Simone and I had a hard time selecting the top ten. After days of bickering (bad idea to give her an iPod for Christmas) and playing our favourites over and over again we finally decided on these albums.
1. Chet Faker Built on Glass
2. Fink Hard Believer
3. Sharon Van Etten Are We There
4. Alt-J This Is All Yours
5. Ben Howard I Forgot Where We Were
6. Damien Rice My Favourite Faded Fantasy
7. Owls Of The Swamp Atlas
8. War On Drugs Lost In The Dream
9. Antlers Familiars
10. Lana Del Rey Ultraviolence
