I decided a few months back to start a collection of my yet to be titled alternative fashion shoots for an upcoming book.  These shoots try to incorporate a high fashion style with the feeling of “after dark”, “lost souls”, “broken hearts”, “lovecry/soulcry”, etc.  The key is to keep it raw both in the shoot and the retouching.  I wasn’t quite sure how Colette would react to this type of shoot but she definitely pulled it off.  Gone is the usual soft lighting, perfect make up and fashion retouching in the darkroom.  She even happily smudged her make up.  We had fun trying to get the perfect shot as she tossed her hair from side to side although after 20 minutes of trying even I was getting dizzy and light headed.  Here are a few from the afternoon.

Soundtrack for the shoot was David Bowie’s Young American.
